Easy Lemon Bars

Easy Lemon Bars

Ok...First of all I love Lemon Bars..I mean who doesn't?
I'm also a fan of these recipes that require just one box of cake mix and one other ingredient and that's it!
Such as my Pumpkin Spice Muffins I posted HERE
I have another recipe for a super easy cobbler I will post soon...stay tuned for that one.

But let's get back to these super duper easy Lemon Bars shall we?

Let's get started!

Here's the ingredients..Lemon Pie Filling and Angel Food Cake Mix..
I KNOW I KNOW! Craziness huh? I bet I have your attention now :)

It helps to have a handsome young man to help you too...say hello to my little friend..buwhahahahaha
otherwise known as my oldest son :)

Ok, back to the bars...so my assistant threw both the ingredients into the mixer...and we mixed away on low until it was all mixed together.

Then I put the batter in a 9x13 pan..and oops forgot to add cooking spray..but it didn't matter, cause they didn't stick..YES! Love'n this recipe even more!!
I put them in the oven at 350 degree's for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.

Yummmmmmmmm...I sprinkled some Powdered Sugar on top and waited for them to cool down..

Ok, I couldn't wait for it to cool down, I just had to dip into them even though they were smoke'n hot!

So this was WAY easy..so perfect for any event, work potlucks, dinner parties, or just because.
I think next time I'll kick it up a bit and add some Fresh Lemon Zest too :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Easy Paper Treat Boxes

Treat Boxes

Ok they aren't reallyyyy boxes..but I don't know what else to call them :)

These are so easy to make and fun as well.  I made these for my youngest son's Pre-School Class for Halloween.  They are filled with yummy treats :)

Let's get started!

I got this super duper cute scrapbook paper at Craft Warehouse, it's 12x12.
Isn't it Spooktackular!?!
Then you'll need scissors, pinking shears and double sided tape (I've also used Glue Dots)

Next I cut the paper into 4 equal squares.

Now..put a strip of double sided tape along one edge of the square..make sure it's right up to the edge. The length of the tape should be just a little bit shorter than the full length of the paper.
Roll the paper into a tube and secure the paper over the tape.
It should look like a toilet paper roll now (P.S. you can do this with tp rolls too if you'd rather)

Pinch one side down, then open up and put a piece of double sided tape in the tube on the inside edge, press together so it's closed shut.

Now fill up the tube with treats :) This is what I was able to stuff into mine!

Now turn the tube 90 degrees and repeat process with tape..put a strip into the inside edge of the tube and pinch closed..it should look like this :)

Now cut the edges with Pinking Shears and you're done!
So easy, all you needed was paper, 3 strips of tape, and scissors...oh and yummy goodies to fill up the treat box..can't forget those!

You can punch a hole with a hole punch in the corner and add a tag...
that's my plan but I haven't made one yet..but it will say
"Trick or Treat, from your friend Jackson"
Or something corny like that :)

Have an awesome day guys!

Clay Skull Necklace

Clay Skull Necklace

Howdy!

I just got done making these adorable Skull Necklaces and I just had to share cause I think they are AWESOME!

I hope you do too :)

Let's get started on how I did this:

I bought this Silicon Ice Cube Tray at the Dollar Store.

I used some Pluffy Clay that I had and put the clay into the Ice Cube Tray and then baked them directly in the tray. I did put the tray on a cookie sheet.
WARNING: I don't know if that was safe...it didn't melt but it does say not to use in microwave so I'm pretty sure than means the oven too..but I just want to put that out there.

They popped right out and this is what they looked like..pretty sweet huh?
I just followed the directions on the packet, cooked them at 275 degrees for 15 minutes.

So I HAD to take it a step further..of course right?

So I broke out these totally rad..yeah I just said rad..googley colored eyeballs I've been saving for a cool project and added them to the Skulls..

I also added a Bail to the back of the Skull so that I could put them on necklaces..Yay!

And I may or may not have glued my fingers to the back of the skull and bail..and I may or may not have had a seriously panic attack..just say'n

Here's the Grey Skull with Hot Pink Eyeballs..so hot! This is my favorite!!

The Green Skull with Yellow Eyeballs..love it!

Ok..I have to say that these look close to professional in person...I mean, I am digg'n these Skulls baby!
Hope you all have a super duper wonderful weekend and..

Pom Pom

How To Make A Pom Pom

My latest obsession..Pom Pom's!!
They are so cute, fun and easy to make :)

There are several different ways you can make a Pom Pom with supplies from home, and today I'm going to show you the way I make it

First cut out a piece of thick sturdy cardboard into the size you want your Pom Pom to be..
this piece of cardboard is approx 3 inches (vertically)
Also cut out a hole in the center of the cardboard...mine should be a little wider..more rectangular than square if you will

Next get your yarn and hold it against the cardboard and start winding around.

I wound mine around the cardboard 75 times.
The more you wind the thicker your Pom Pom :)

Now cut a piece of yarn about 8 inches or so long.
Lay it over one side of the wrapped yarn, and then pull it through the hole to the other side....

So that the other side looks like this..now you can tie it really tight into a knot around the middle.
Make sure it's super tight and you knot it a few times.
For extra security, after tying the knot, put the string back through the hole and tie a knot on the other side as well.

Cut along the top edge of the wrapped yarn on both the top and the bottom

And now you should have this!
Pull the Pom Pom through the hole and you are finished :)

Now you can trim your Pom Pom and do with it as you please!
Isn't it cute!

Some ideas for the Pom Pom's:
Hot glue to the top of a pen
Make a Pom Pom Garland by tying them together
Use them as Ornaments
Put them on presents as bows
Tie them to your shoe laces
The list goes on and on and on and on...options are never ending with this one.

Have fun with it and have your kids join in the fun :)

Paperclip Necklace

Paper Clip Necklace

Good Afternoon Ladies!!

Today I made a Paper Clip/Duct Tape Necklace!
This was so easy, and it looks so stink'n cute I just love it :)

The supplies I used are:
Colored Paper Clips (Dollar Store)
Jump Rings
Duct Tape (Hello Kitty)

So all I did was wrap strips of Hello Kitty Duct Tape around each Paper Clip, making sure to leave space at either end of the Paper Clip.

Then I added Jump Rings to connect the Paper Clips together, then added a Clasp.

Now..keep in mind, you don't have to use Jump Rings!
You can connect all the Paper Clips together first, then add the Duct Tape...

Like this.. but I liked the look of the Jump Rings.

This is a very easy craft that your child could do, great for a sleep over craft, or birthday party craft.

Isn't it adorable??
I am totally going to go make more right now using a different color of Paper Clip and different pattern of Duct Tape!!

Halloween Decor #3

Halloween Decor #3

Hey Ladies..and Hubby!

Sorry I've been gone so long..I had my first Craft Show of the season this past weekend and I waited far too long to get all my product ready! So needless to say I was super busy last week!

Today I am going to show you these cute little Candle/Candy Holders :)

I chose to put Flameless Candles in mine because my boys already have had far too much Halloween Candy and Halloween is still a couple weeks out.
These are the Flameless Candles that change color which is super fun for the kids :)
Pumpkin

Ghost

Spider Web

Here are the supplies I used:
Small Terracotta Pots
Small Glass Candle Holders
Acrylic Paint (Black, Orange, & White)
E6000 (glue)
Colored Rice
First I painted my pots, which I really enjoyed, painting is so much fun!  I was going to do a Candy Corn one too but figured 3 was enough, but it's still on my mind so I will probably end up doing it.

Next, after the paint was fully dry, I glued the small glass candle holders onto the pots with E6000, love that stuff..it's awesome!

Then fill with whatever your heart desires!
I wanted to fill them with Candy Corn, but like I said, I know my boys would munch on it and it'd be gone before you know it.

I put Colored White Rice in mine.  To see how I colored my rice you can follow the same steps as my Colored Noodles Tutorial HERE

All in all this was a cheap, quick and fun project.  Hope you enjoyed it!
